Cock a Leekie Soup £6.95

Traditional Scottish recipe, served with Five Kingdoms beer bread with parsley and sea salt butter.

Cullen Skink £8.95

Traditional creamy Scottish soup made from locally smoked haddock fillet, potato, leeks and onions, finished with fried onion oil and served with Five Kingdoms beer bread and herb butter.

Open Crab and Scallop Sandwich £10.95

Toasted rye bread topped with local crab and celeriac remoulade, lemon cured Kirkcudbright scallop and finished with citrus fruit vinaigrette.

Cold Smoked Sea Trout £895

Home cured with citrus fruits and a hint of local whisky, slow cooked in our smoker, finished with compressed apples, apple gel and toasted rye bread

Pulled Pork Nachos £8.95

Finished with nacho cheese sauce, spicy salsa, sour cream and jalapenos.

Traditional Fish and Chips £18.95

Fresh haddock fillet from West Coast Sea Fisheries from Kirkcudbright in our special light beer batter with chunky chips, dressed salad, homemade tartare sauce and peas.

Cod Mornay £1895

Locally landed cod fillet, lightly smoked and baked with herb butter, finished with Galloway farm cheese sauce and served with crushed potatoes and seasonal vegetables.

 

MEAT DISHES

Ballards 10oz Flat Iron Steak £21.95

Locally reared grass fed 21day aged steak served with garlic and herb butter, dressed salad, beer battered onion rings and homemade chips. We recommend serving it medium rare but please ask your server if you have another preference. Add our mixed peppercorn cream sauce infused with a hint of whisky for £2.00.

Five Kingdoms Ham and Eggs £18.95

Ham cured in house with Five Kingdoms beer and cider, chargrilled and glazed with parsley butter, served with free range fried egg, home made chips and garden peas.

Steam Packet Burger £18.95

Ballards butcher 8oz patty, streaky bacon, local cheddar in a seeded brioche bun with dressed salad, homemade chips and onion rings with Parmesan mayonnaise and home made burger relish on the side.

Chicken Breast £18.95

Cooked sous vide with garlic and herbs, served with wild mushroom sauce, crushed potatoes and seasonal vegetables.

Pie of the day £18.95

Proper homemade pie using old fashioned hot water crust pastry with changing filling, served with seasonal vegetables and creamy mash.
