STARTERS

*Pressed Terrine of pheasant bacon and chestnuts]

Beetroot and ginger chutney, treacle and five kingdoms ale bread

*Smoked haddock, spinach, and egg en cocotte

Served with focaccia bread soldiers.

*Toasted homemade Brioche topped with button mushrooms.

Cooked with cider and camembert.

MAINS

*Traditional Roast Turkey

Served with the trimmings, roast potatoes, roast parsnip, sprouts with steaky bacon, bread sauce, chipolata, sage and caramelised shallot Stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce with orange and port.

*Navarin of Carsluith Venison

Served with buttered greens, candied beetroot and black pudding choux beignets.

*Seafood Crepe

A lemon balm and parsley crepe filled with local seafood and shellfish in Nantua sauce with green salad and rosemary skewered potatoes.

 *Caramelised Onion Tart Tatin

Topped with sour cream and Rockette drizzled with gremolata.

DESSERTS

 *Traditional Christmas pudding

Served with brandy sauce and our homemade Christmas ice cream.

We are truly spoilt by our harbourside location which allows us to take advantage of the vast amount of quality seafood that is landed just yards from the kitchen door including the scallops, Lobster and crab. We also pride ourselves in using as much local produce as possible. Furthermore, we try to source everything within a twenty-mile radius. Venison from both wild red deer and roe deer are supplied by local game dealers and the Galloway Smoke house also supply the very finest smoked salmon to us. Our Galloway beef and lamb is provided from Ballards in Castle Douglas, our organic slow reared pork and boar from Grobdale of Girthon and our Cream of Galloway ice cream and farmhouse cheeses both from Rainton farm. We also acquire as much of our vegetables and herbs as possible grown up the road at Tonderghie. Our aim is to offer quality contemporary food that is good value and appeals to all our customers, young and old, local and visitor alike in a relaxed friendly environment.

We are CLOSED ON A SUNDAY AND MONDAY  open Tuesday to Saturday serving our hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner. We are passionate about quality with everything made in house. Meals are served in both bar areas and our harbourside dining room and conservatory restaurants. If the weather allows, we also serve outside at the tables on the harbourside itself.

Our current menus are listed below, but we also have a specials menu that change daily depending on what comes in from the boats or becomes available seasonally. 

With everything being made to order dietary requirements are never a problem. 

Breakfast served Tuesday- Saturday for residents: 8am – 9am.

Cairnsmore with green peppercorns – Organic ewes milk from Millairies farm at Sorbie made with raw milk the peppercorns add another dimension to this fantastic cheese giving it a subtle flavouring
